Highlights of our 31st annual E Ho‘olauna Pū Kākou, held on July 30 at the King Intermediate School Hula Mound, included the return of the hālau chili and dessert booths, an absolutely charming mass performance of "He Mele no Ku‘u Kino" and "Pī‘āpā" by the keiki of HMI (pictured above), the music of Mololani (U‘i Bobbitt, Kapalai de Silva, Mahina Duarte, and Ānuenue Punua), and the presentation of "longevity" awards (in 5-year increments from 5 to 35) to our ever-loyal, patient, and forgiving dancers. Ho‘omaika‘i iā kākou pākahi! Congratulations to all of us for resisting hula entropy and for always enjoying each other's company!
